Our Mission
Stories Teens Love was founded as a love letter to young writers everywhere. In a world where the arts are becoming increasingly monetized, I wanted to create a space where young writers could receive mentorship and resources, free of charge. I created the website in my junior year of high school, after receiving queries about writing and publication from young writers. I had started a creative writing club at my high school to mentor writers, but found that I was limited in my outreach because of constraints like location and scheduling conflicts. The truth is that while the number of teens writing across the globe has exponentially grown, the digital and in-person mentorship opportunities available for teen writers can often be expensive, exclusive, and a time-consuming, inequitable process. At Stories Teens Love, we understand that writing is a solitary act, but it starts with a community. Here, we endeavor to democratize knowledge by removing barriers like paywalls and subscription fees, and to make it so that anyone from any part of the world can receive free, accessible writing tools and materials.
