"Large Sands"- by Isabella Joseph

I felt like sand in the wind. Allowing a force
to overcome my
weight. With rain and earth
my form evolved.
My time in the wind was
time to ponder. Ponder the
possibilities of a future which ended
in failure.
My time was a given and I would
like it to be deserved. Upon my descent speed
picks up. I gather myself with limbs I don’t know.
Time freefalling was time
accelerating. I become more than I was.
A particle worth sums of its
initial parts. Value at a molecular level.
To which if one fails another picks up.
Confidence in identity and
participation.
A larger sense of belonging along
seemingly identical beings.
